The extensive renovation of Elounda Blue Bay hotel. Complete overhaul of public areas and creation of new facilities (gym, spa, conference hall, swimming pool), refurbishing of rooms and enhancement of surrounding area. The result is a boutique hotel with a relatively low construction cost.

Main building, ext. view. The additonal grey structure was created for the new reception and manager’s office.
The reception desk was designed to be light on eye and the inspiration for the 3D wooden storage furniture was the local traditional carpets.
Lobby area, ceiling to floor windows -here w/off white roller shades- opened the renovated existing building to the breathtaking sea view.
Some of the hotel’s old furniture reused in the new fusion interior style. A small budget was spend for a couple of diachronic furniture and light fixtures but most were made by local craftsmen.
A specific cement flooring resembling a local traditional technic, was use for most interior and exterior spaces.

The old pool was reconstructed and enlaged and a separete new children’s pool and bar were created.
Breakfast room and restaurant were renovated. Most of the hotel’s wooden chairs and tables stock was reused .
the mini spa area was created under the swimming pool level.
new junior suites with private swimming pools from merging 2 basic rooms.
light fixture for the beds
My favorite design on this project is a metal tv stand for the basic room. The revolving structure, hangs like spides from the ceiling, to leave more free space on the room’s table.
